Field Trips

The Field Trip program provides an opportunity for students to employ design thinking and the design process to develop creative solutions to a wide range of real-world problems.

Field Trips

The Design Lab offers a half-day Field Trip Program for visiting middle and high school groups. The program includes a tour of the campus of the College of Design, and a hands-on design challenge project in our on-campus Design Lab studio. This program is designed for groups with any level of design experience.


A base fee will be charged per group, with an additional charge per student. Instruction, materials, and processing are included in the program cost.


Registration is limited to a minimum group size of 15 students, and a maximum group size of 30 students. Groups smaller than 15 may register but will be required to pay the 15 person rate. Groups larger than 30 may divide their group and register for multiple Field Trip sessions, if available.


There must be a chaperone for every 10 students or part of 10.


Lunch for students and chaperones following the program may be added to your registration fees for $12.00 per person.

Fall 2024 – Fall 2025 Field Trip Program | On Hold

We will be pausing our Field Trip program between Fall 2024 – Spring 2025. Our classroom and studio space is undergoing significant renovations through Spring 2025, and potentially into Fall 2025. We are excited for this renovation and cannot wait to welcome students and educators into our new space!
