Bio

Since 2013, Paul Morris has served as the President and CEO of Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI).

He is leading an effort to rewrite the narrative of Atlanta by reclaiming land lost to the unanticipated consequences from a single purpose past to a more vibrant and sustainable multi-purpose future.  This seminal undertaking seeks to expand and improve transportation mobility, access and connectivity along the Interstate 75/85 freeway midtown connector; producing exciting and memorable experiences as part of a new elevated park that enriches the visual beauty, art and architecture of place for all; enhancing redevelopment opportunities of surrounding properties, erasing decades crime of blight; serving as a gateway beacon the Capital core; and providing a lasting living legacy of public and private anchor institutions.

Under Mr. Morris’ leadership, the 15,000 acre Atlanta BeltLine initiative has received numerous accolades, including Best Rehabilitation Project in the World from the International Real Estate Federation; gold and silver awards from the International Economic Development Council; EPA’s Phoenix Award for Region 4; and dozens of industry awards. Georgia Trend identified Mr. Morris as one of the 100 Most Influential Georgians two years in a row and Atlanta Business Chronicle honored him as one of the 100 Most Influential Atlantans.

Mr. Morris has 30 years of experience in strategic consulting and executive management across 25 states and 10 foreign countries, including as Deputy Secretary for the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Prior to joining ABI, Mr. Morris worked on several projects of national significance, such as the World Trade Center Memorial in New York City, the Columbine High School Memorial in Colorado, and the Oklahoma City National Memorial.

Mr. Morris is a Fellow with the American Society of Landscape Architects. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon and a Graduate Certificate from Harvard University in Innovations in Planning and Development. Mr. Morris currently lives in Atlanta and is married with two children.
