Shameeka Davis-Dunning
Bio
Shameeka Davis-Dunning provides a full range of services for the Harrye B. Lyons Design Library, including circulation, reference, reserves, and technology lending. She manages and ensures access to the technology lending inventory and course reserves. She updates the library’s web content; provides access, delivery, reference, and onsite technology troubleshooting services for library users; provides advice and basic instruction on appropriate databases and resources; explains and interprets library policies; manages document delivery and interlibrary loan services; and works with student assistants on collection maintenance projects. She also assists in ensuring the safety and security of people and materials.
Prior to joining the College of Design, Shameeka Davis-Dunning was a programs assistant at the Benjamin Branch Library in Greensboro, NC, responsible for circulation and shelving of materials, patron registration, reference, technical support, and reader’s advisory services. She has established and led arts-oriented educational and recreational programs for the community. Other previous positions include Programs Assistant at the McGirt Horton Branch Library and Art Instructor at the African American Atelier, both of which are also in Greensboro. Shameeka Davis-Dunning holds a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising and Design from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
