Ryan C. Khan is a highly regarded filmmaker from the picturesque twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. With over two decades of experience in the film industry, Ryan is known for his passion, collaborative spirit, and resourcefulness as an artist. He has a talent for pioneering new industries and seeking out unconventional ways to create projects within untapped cultures and communities.
Ryan’s journey in the film industry began in the editorial department of a small video production company. He has since made significant contributions to various media forms, including television, teaching, and film festivals. Ryan has developed a unique style that blends the supernatural with commercial elements, creating captivating and high-quality stories despite limited resources.
As one of the first recipients of funding from his country’s newly established film commission, FilmTT, Ryan wrote, produced, and directed his first two short films: “MINUTES TO MIDNITE” and “THE MIDNITE AFFAIR,” which saw limited theatrical/VOD release. His third short film, “HOW MANY TIMES?,” was screened at the prestigious CANNES SHORT FILM CORNER in 2014, showcasing his talent on an international stage.
Ryan has also made a name for himself in the music industry by producing, directing, and editing music videos for renowned regional artists like KES THE BAND, ORANGE SKY, and BUNJI GARLIN. He has also worked with multinational advertising agencies, including MCCANN WORLD GROUP, SAATCHI & SAATCHI, and OGILVY, creating commercials that captivate audiences with their creativity and impact.
