Bio
Emily (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She graduated with her Masters in Social Work and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Trauma Informed Care from Syracuse University and has been working in mental health within education systems ever since. She values strengths-based approaches and identity intersectionality. She loves helping people understand and honor themselves.
In her spare time, she enjoys practicing Lyra aerial arts, hanging out with her cat, and traveling to achieve her goal of visiting all 50 states. She grew up in the Adirondacks of Northern New York and loves living in Raleigh.

Emily Burdo, LCSW, has taken on the role of a full-time embedded counselor at the College of Design. In her new capacity within the college, Burdo’s primary objective is to establish an inviting environment for personalized emotional support. Additionally, she aims to equip students with the necessary resources to explore various avenues of mental health assistance.
