Bio
Betsy Peters Rascoe, an Eastern North Carolina native, is a passionate designer on a mission to design participatory experiences that make a positive community impact through innovative storytelling. She is currently the President and Lead Designer at Design Dimension, a creative exhibit design/build studio located in Zebulon, NC. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the North Carolina State College of Design (‘11), she began her career as an entry level exhibit designer at Design Dimension. After 7 years Betsy had the opportunity to acquire the business from NCSU COD Alumni, Wayne Poole.
The studio environment at Design Dimension is rooted in the belief that good design is the best form of storytelling, which involves problem-solving and a strong collaborative process. They design, fabricate and install spaces that are intentional, impactful, educational, innovative, playful, and community-driven.
Betsy serves as a board member for Wilson Forward, The Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park and Wilson Downtown Properties. She is dedicated to being a part of the growth and development of her local community in Wilson.
Motivation to serve on the Leaders Council:
I am so excited about the opportunity to serve as a supporter to the College of Design, specifically as a representative of Eastern North Carolina. My education and experience has fueled a passion for community and collaboration, teaching me how to use design as a tool to connect different groups of people.
