Bio

Adam Walters serves the University and College as Associate Director of the Initiative for Community Growth & Development. His role builds on many years of experience in design, academics, and program management. Adam is a licensed, professional landscape architect (PLA) and an ISA Certified Arborist with a multidisciplinary background spanning the professions of design, planning, academic research, humanitarian aid, and environmental science. Adam‘s unique combination of academic and professional experience brings a critical perspective to social and natural imperatives and the tools to help solve today’s complex issues. Adam has lived and worked in more than 15 countries while working to improve living conditions for the world’s most vulnerable populations. He continues to champion for livability, strong communities, and a deep connection to nature, through his design work and use of the design process to bring people together and elevate the good.
