Adam Walters is a licensed landscape architect and arborist and serves as the associate director of the Peter A. Pappas Real Estate Development Program. His distinguished career spans design, planning, academic research, humanitarian aid and environmental science.
Adam’s multidisciplinary background allows him to approach complex challenges with a unique perspective, integrating social, economic and environmental considerations into his work. He is deeply committed to championing livability, fostering strong communities and promoting a profound connection to nature through design.
As an educator and practitioner, Adam inspires students and colleagues alike to utilize the design process as a tool for positive change. He is a passionate advocate for sustainable development, believing that thoughtful design can elevate the human experience while preserving the natural world for generations to come.
Adam holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from NC State University, a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences & Engineering from the Gillings School of Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences from UNC Asheville.
