David Bulfin

Bio

David previously served as the Product Design Director at BOLTGROUP, a globally recognized design-innovation agency that has called Charlotte home since its inception in 1985. During a portion of that time, he was also the district chair for the IDSA. With experience developing a vast array of international award-winning commercial and consumer products from first sketch to store shelf, David’s work has influenced a diverse set of markets across numerous industries.

With a well-honed technical aptitude and a knack for advanced development, David has led successful design-innovation teams across disciplines and across continents. You might also recognize him from Season 1 of America By Design, a short form docu-series that recently aired on CBS in the United States. David is a proud alumnus of the College of Design at NC State University and remains active with the next generation of designers. He consistently maintains a desire to provide support, truth and optimism to those looking to make their way as professional innovators. In his own practice, David believes that every design challenge has equal dignity and is always looking for ways to impart patience, honesty and bravery into his work.

David moved abroad to rural Denmark in 2022. Today he works as a design-innovator at The LEGO Group, helping to create dynamic experiences for builders of all ages. You can see some of his products on shelf at any LEGO retailer in the world.
