Bio

Charleston Yi is a Ph.D. student at North Carolina State University. His background is in architecture and landscape architecture with few years of experience in practice from Korea. He is exploring community design for social and environmental justice and teaching landscape architecture design studio. He has engaged with various local communities in NC to reach a just environment and society. His dissertation work focuses on the impacts of participatory design processes and products on a community’s emotional and social well-being. His design works have earned awards including student ASLA awards. He has presented his research and community project at EDRA, CELA, and LED2LEAP.
