ID 201: Industrial Design Studio I

Industrial Design Oriented Re-Design

Project Overview/Scope

This course introduces the theories, methods, and language of industrial design; elementary problems in form and function; and transitional implications of hand-crafted and mass-produced objects in various materials.

  • Students were asked to make a 3 – 5 minute video presentation, including a virtual tour with notes following the guided tour.
    • These notes identified pain points and user needs
  • Using scientific research, student feedback, and a color palette, a final layout was provided
    • This was done using a loose floor plan, individual space examples, and AI-generated renderings/other floor plans
