NC State is one of 21 schools nationwide to offer the Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure (IPAL) program, established in 2015 to streamline the path of becoming a licensed architect. The program condenses the licensure process into a shorter timeframe than the traditional path.

Professor of Architecture Patrick Rand, FAIA, DPACSA, is one of the first NC State recipients of a Fulbright Distinguished Chair Award. Sarah Dickerson and Jessica Braverman, two NC State Design alumni, were part of a team recently awarded first place in the 15th annual Perkins+Will Global Design Competition. The Global Design Competition is an internal Perkins+Will challenge created to engage young design professionals throughout the firm’s 20 international offices and to encourage provocative and imaginative design.
Graphic Designs students in GD 400 studio (Advanced Graphic Design Studio) were challenged to develop customizable secondary packaging through a collaborative partnership with Sealed Air. Thinking beyond traditional design to re-imagine and improve the experience.

Recently, College of Design alumnus, Harold (Harry) Bradley III [BEDA '81] donated ten works of art by artist James Augustus McLean (1904-1989) to the Gregg Museum of Art & Design, Raleigh, NC. The museum offers free admission.
NC State students from across disciplines have partnered up by way of SolarPack, a multidisciplinary student club developed to design and build a solar car. SolarPack is made of five subteams including: design, powertrain, electrical, chassis, and business.
