Personal Property and Real Estate Gifts

Gifts-in-kind can be valuable additions to the College, whether a piece of equipment that can be used by students or a photography collection that will enhance research. Art objects, equipment and materials, and rare books or collections generally can be deducted at the asset’s current market value, provided the property has been owned for more than one year and can be used by a college or program at NC State.
