Dwain Teague
Bio
Dwain Posey Teague serves as the executive director of philanthropy for the College of Design. Prior to joining NC State, Dwain served as the director of development for the North Carolina Central University School of Library & Information Sciences and the School of
Education. Dwain’s career as an academic fundraiser spans more than 20 years, securing philanthropic support for North Carolina Central University; UNC Chapel Hill; North Carolina State University; East Carolina University; and the University of Central Florida.
In addition to fundraising, Dwain is passionate about information literacy, research, libraries, and the vital roles libraries play in our communities. He held librarian positions at Miami Dade College – Kendall Campus and North Carolina Wesleyan College where he
taught library research, conducted collection development and acquisitions, managed a Media Production Lab, and taught students and faculty how to utilize Maker Spaces. He enjoys presenting at library and fundraising conferences and has published two scholarly articles and a book chapter. Dwain is a member of Beta Phi Mu – the Library and Information Science Honor Society and holds the Public Librarian Certification via the State Library of
North Carolina.
Dwain holds an M.L.S. from the North Carolina Central University School of Library and Information Sciences; a M.A. in English from East Carolina University; and a B.S. in Communications from East Carolina University.
