Partnering to Combat Student Housing Insecurity

Since Mary Haskett’s 2017 study illustrated the need to address food and housing insecurity faced by NC State students, campus and community partners have worked on ways to respond. Grants from the NC State University Foundation are supporting development of a Host Homes Program, which will match students facing homelessness or housing insecurity with members of the community willing to open their homes. At the same time, an interdisciplinary partnership with Professor Tom Barrie in the College of Design is exploring what it might look like to provide housing on or near campus.

Keep the Faith, Finish the Tower

The Memorial Belltower has a history that is almost hard to believe. Built to honor the NC State alumni killed in World War I, the 115-foot Legend in Stone has always been missing a final piece: real bells.
