Bio
Clark Malchow currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Architecture and Interior Design at Louisiana Tech University with research interests including the socio-spatial connections between campus and urbanism, town-gown relationships, and the intersection of architecture and interior design within the built environment. A graduate of Louisiana Tech, Clark earned his Master of Architecture in 2022 and continues to seek research avenues in socio-spatial landscapes and campus environments within the American Southeast, presenting at various national conferences. Outside the studio, Clark enjoys tending to his garden growing a myriad of wildflowers and seasonal produce.
Research Interest
Clark’s research investigates the intersection of collegiate architecture and public-private partnerships (P3s), examining how these financial models have historically (and currently) shape the socio-spatial dynamics of campus housing in the American Southeast. For his DDes focus, Clark will seek to conduct a comparative analysis of student housing at mid-scale collegiate landscapes in the Southeast, using Ruston, Louisiana and other collegiate institutions as a case study to develop a critical framework for more equitable and accessible architectural P3 models and the future of campus planning.
