A Message from Dean Hoversten

May 4, 2020

As we look forward to the fall semester, I wanted to take a moment to reassure you that we are hoping and planning on holding face-to-face instruction in the fall, while making classes as safe and as normal as possible for our students. As this pandemic continues to evolve, that may no longer be a reality. Our top priority, as always, is to deliver excellent education to our students, and the faculty and staff at the College of Design are committed to that goal.

This continues to be a time of uncertainty about the COVID-19 virus, but it is also a time for celebration. We are celebrating the amazing work that students and faculty put into transitioning into online learning. We are also celebrating our current graduates, who will join a strong tradition of alumni from the College of Design. We look forward to celebrating in person with you whenever we are able.

At this time, we are holding all summer courses online, and continuing to expand our safety measures on campus. We’re enlarging our studios and making additional plans to ensure our students remain socially distant for their health and well-being. I look forward to seeing your faces as soon as we are safely back on campus.
