LAR 501: Landscape Architecture Introduction to Design Studio
In this first landscape architecture studio, students discover and explore ideas of landscape architectural design. Several studio projects serve as vehicles to learn concepts and methods associated with design thinking, placemaking, and representation.
Various representational methods including drawing, physical, and computer modeling are learned and applied to explore site conditions, program relationships, scale, and placemaking. The studio introduces students to landscape architectural design by focusing on fundamental problem solving, and graphic concepts, methods, and skills that set the stage for more advanced studies.
