Protest bad design

This past week I’ve been inundated with social media posts showing political protests. Post-inauguration, it was hard to exist in our digital world without seeing an image of somebody holding a political sign or videos of marchers. The posts I saw and the articles I read had me thinking about the language and representation of protest. What do the images groups use to protest say about their cause? Admittedly, I was at an event that leaned in a specific political direction, but I definitely questioned some of the imagery choices on both sides.

Afterwards, I read articles etc. about the use of specific symbols and how those symbols can be alienating. Maybe that’s the problem with a symbol-it has the potential to alienate…
