The College of Design has been an interdisciplinary environment intent on producing leaders in design fields for about seventy years. As a global research institute, NC State University maintains some of the most advanced research facilities, enabling researchers to conduct cutting\u2010edge experiments. Our program is not only prominent in empirical research, but our faculty with concentrations on art and architectural history have also been conducting historical and theoretical dissertations. The program is inherently interdisciplinary, bringing ideas from multiple domains into conversation while interrogating those ideas from multiple directions. Most of our graduates have secured positions across a wide variety of career tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My role as Director of the Ph.D. in Design program is to work with our Ph.D. faculty in helping you to be productive, steadily moving toward your degree. Your success is our priority. My goal is to lay a well\u2010structured framework for our students, enabling them to negotiate the academic environment of the college and university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, welcome to our program. You have not only been admitted to a doctorate program with all its intensity and rigor but to a community of colleagues and friends with all its delights.
