Craig graduated from the School of Design in 1983. He was a designer and art director at several Triangle area advertising/design/marketing firms until 1994, when he started his own graphic design practice, McDuffie Design. He served as president of the Designlife Fund Board of Directors (then called the Design Guild) from 2010-2012. He currently serves on the College of Design Leaders Council as chair of its Events Committee. In 2010, Craig and spouse Linda Noble, also a graduate of the School of Design, established the Noble McDuffie Travel Scholarship at the College of Design. This award goes to students who want to broaden their experiences by traveling to see something in the world outside of the classroom, outside of the box. In 2017, they also established the TLC Endowment for College of Design Student Aid to help students with unexpected financial hardships. Craig also serves on the Board of Directors for CAM Raleigh and is a trustee for the Raleigh/Durham chapter of The Awesome Foundation.
