{"id":495,"date":"2024-03-01T15:01:28","date_gmt":"2024-03-01T15:01:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/design.ncsu.edu\/operations\/?p=495"},"modified":"2024-03-01T15:01:29","modified_gmt":"2024-03-01T15:01:29","slug":"laser-cutter-general-information","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/design.ncsu.edu\/operations\/495\/laser-cutter-general-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Laser Cutter General Information"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The College of Design has several Boss laser cutters available only for College of Design students, faculty and staff.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three Boss laser cutters available in Leazar Hall 220A, next to the Materials Lab, and two Boss laser cutters currently located in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/design.ncsu.edu\/operations\/college-of-design-digital-fabrication\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">111 Lampe Digital Fabrication Studio MakerSpace<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The laser cutters are available for College of Design students, faculty and staff only.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Model BOSS LS-2440 \u2013 located in Leazar Materials Lab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Model BOSS LS-1630 \u2013 located in Lampe Digital Fabrication Studio MakerSpace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Laser cutters provide precise cutting and engraving on a variety of materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are expected to provide their own laser cutter material substrates; some remnant and scrap materials are available in the Material Lab on a first-come, first-serve basis.
