The William Keating Bayley Information Technology Laboratory houses the Brooks Lab Maker Space as well as provides support for several hybrid computer cluster spaces available in Brooks Hall, Leazar Hall and Kamphoefner Hall.

The Digital Fabrication Studio @ 111 Lampe Drive is home for the Industrial Design program for the College of Design which opened the Fall of 2023 as a premiere hub not just for faculty and students, but also as the Community Center for the Industrial Designers in the Triangle, alumni and designers throughout NC.

The Digital Fabrication Studio @ 230 Leazar Hall is conveniently located near the Materials Lab and lasercutters. It has a computing cluster with high-end rendering computers for VR/MXR as well as 3D Scanning platforms available for use. In addition, we are currently hosting the College of Education TDE MakerSpace Lab under the management of Steven Miller, Assistant Teaching Professor – STEM Education. The resources in this space are available to all disciplines within the College of Design and students enrolled in the College of Education TDE Program.

The Digital Fabrication Studio and Maker Spaces blends a variety of software and tools for generating real world, functional prototypes in support of ongoing curriculum for Industrial Design, Architecture and other interdisciplinary focused projects and multidisciplinary research for industry/outreach on campus.

Please note that the 3D printers at the College of Design Digital Fabrication Studio and Maker Space labs are primarily only available for College of Design students, faculty, and staff. Students must be a current Design major, minor, or currently registered for a Design course.
