EVENT DESCRIPTION: Artist and design professor at Appalachian State Taekyeom Lee produces beautiful 3D printed pieces in unconventional materials ranging from plastic to precious metal clay by building his own tools, including a desktop 3D printer and paste extruders. He will discuss how, through technological convergence, new manufacturing processes using computer numerical control such as 3D printing, CNC milling, and laser cutting have broadened creative possibilities for artists and designers and perception of three-dimensional experience.
