Tour the Immersive vMLK Exhibition

September 15, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

In 2016, Dr. Victoria J. Gallagher (professor of communication) and her colleague, Dr. Keon Pettiway, presented an exhibition of their Virtual MLK Project as part of a two-day event entitled Experiencing King at NC State. Back by popular demand, they have agreed to give an encore presentation of parts of the exhibition, as well as guided tours during Friday evening of Parents and Families Weekend.  Self-guided tours will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, until 9 p.m. Faculty-guided tours will be available at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. for registered participants. Individuals and families may use the Google Form at the link below to request spots in one of the two tours.

This exhibit, which highlights portions of NC State’s Virtual MLK Project, features digitally enabled, immersive experiences of Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic speech, “A Creative Protest [Fill Up the Jails].” In the high-tech spaces of the James B. Hunt Jr. Library, you’ll see and hear what it was like to witness King in person — and you’ll learn more about the NC State research behind the innovative displays.
