NCARB : Designing Your Future | Creating Value in Your Career

Join a representative from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) for a presentation about your career in architecture, licensure, and beyond. This is open to current students, alumni, and anyone interested in exploring the professional career of architecture. There will be two presentations: Tuesday, October 24th 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. (targeted towards professionals) OR Wednesday, October 25th noon to 1:30 p.m. (focus being on students).


DATES + TIMES*: Tuesday, October 24, 2017, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. OR Wednesday, October 25, 2017, noon to 1:30 p.m.

*Tuesday lecture is targeting professionals and Wednesday’s lecture focus will be for students.

LOCATION: College of Design, Brooks Hall, Room 318

  • Presenter: Matthew Friesz, AIA, NCARB, LEED Green Assoc. – Outreach Manager, Experience + Education

Topics will include:

  • The entities involved in the licensure process
  • How to progress successfully through the Architectural Experience Program™ (AXP™)
  • Brief overview of the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®)
  • Recent changes to NCARB programs
  • The value of the NCARB Certificate

The presentation will also cover tips to making a successful transition from school to work and pursuing licensure once employed. Following the presentation there will be a question and answer session.
