The Master of Architecture Program in the School of Architecture at North Carolina State University’s College of Design is the final academic degree for students prior to professional practice. BETlab provides these students with the opportunity to engage with research focused on critical topics in contemporary professional practice, such as sustainability and building energy in design.

BETlab offers relevant coursework and research opportunities to students in the program, allowing them to explore building design concepts, innovative building energy technologies and solutions, and the latest tools and technologies for evaluating building performance. This involvement in research and scholarship strengthens the students’ knowledge base and skills, providing them with the tools necessary to pursue professional practice that prioritizes sustainability and energy efficiency in building design.
