The student team of Grace Polo-Wood, Ben Stradling, Myiam Nestor, and Taylor Ligon have won the Annual NCMCA Sigmon Memorial Scholarship Design Competition at North Carolina State University. The 2020 competition marks its twentieth year at NC State, sponsored by the North Carolina Masonry Contractors Association<\/a> (NCMA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n The competition required the team to design and model a hypothetical masonry office building. The competition is part of Professor J. Patrick Rand\u2019s \u201cArchitectural Construction Systems\u201d class at NC State University\u2019s College of Design and is a graded class assignment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Ten teams participated in the \u201cvirtual\u201d competition, and projects were judged by NCMCA Past President Doug Burton and by architect and teacher Frank Harmon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n First place went to students Grace Polo-Wood, Ben Stradling, Myiam Nestor, and Taylor Ligon.
