GD301: Branding Interaction Service Design

Graphic Design Oriented Re-Design Proposals

Project Overview/Scope

This course examines research methods used in graphic & experience design for the development of products, services, systems, and experiences. The course addresses research in multiple phases of the design process, including problem definition, generative, and evaluative phases. Emphasis is placed on matching the attributes of methods with the research needs of designers to define and validate design requirements ultimately.
This course investigates branding, interaction, and service design in response to problems of complex systems and contexts.

Students were asked to create a slide presentation containing information regarding a “redesigned” design library using research and summarizing key findings.

  • They began by explaining the current issues and pain points
    • Followed by requests for improvements
  • They then provided a “direction” to push the design library towards when considering a re-design
  • Floor plans, new logos, color palettes, and stylistic features were provided
  • Potential uses for the space (resource hub, other uses for students)

Project Teams

Each student worked in groups of two to create a 20 – 30 slide presentation regarding the necessary requirements for a proposed re-design.
