ENG 282: Introduction to Film

Visual & Performing Arts GEP: 3 Credits

 

This course will introduce students to the vocabulary and analytical skills with which to approach the study of motion pictures. We will examine film form, style, and industry practices through readings, screenings, and discussion. Students will learn how to watch films with the aim of developing critical thinking, thoughtful discussion, and interpretive writing skills. Half of the course will be dedicated to learning these skills through the study of Czech cinema.
