CAM Raleigh’s November First Friday program includes after-hours access to the galleries, “Ask Me” guides in the gallery, a book swap in the museum lobby, a hands-on activity at the creation station, music by local DJs, food trucks, and a cash bar. You can also visit our newest exhibition, Angel Otero: New Works, on display in our Independent Weekly Gallery.

First Friday admission is $5 and FREE to all members, children 10 and under, and NC State College of Design students, faculty and staff.

Instructor: Shelley Smith (local artist, NCSU College of Design alumna)
Part of CAM Raleigh’s Art to Wear and Textiles Workshop Series. In this workshop, students will learn how to print images on fabric using a common ink jet printer. Students will create a unique, juxtaposed piece by weaving together two of their fabric prints. In keeping with the CAM Raleigh exhibition Your Land / My Land: Election ’12 by Jonathan Horowitz, participants will have the opportunity to create their own art piece to visually explore contrasting ideas and images through a woven “visual debate”.

Homecoming 2012 with the College of Design and CAM Raleigh: Classes Without Quizzes

To celebrate homecoming the College of Design way, families are invited to take on a creative challenge together at CAM Raleigh, the Contemporary Art Museum. Using materials provided, families will create a solution to a design problem with guidance and feedback from members of the College of Design community. Participating families will also have the opportunity to take a guided tour of current CAM Raleigh exhibitions. Students and alumni, this is a great way to share the design process with your families firsthand and help them learn more about design!
